Does Clearcoat connect to my DMS or website?

1 min read

No. Clearcoat has no API, inventory feed or listing-site integration, so it doesn't connect to a DMS, an inventory tool or a dealer website. You upload lot photos in the Clearcoat app and download each finished photo, one at a time, as a JPEG. From there, the photos go into your DMS, inventory tool or website the same way you add photos today.

How do finished photos get from Clearcoat to my listings?

  1. Upload the lot photos to a Vehicle in Clearcoat. Name the Vehicle and add its stock number, so anyone on the Team can find it by either one.
  2. Generate in the Studio. On Finish, pick the Format your listings use.
  3. Download. Open each finished photo, compare Showroom with Original, and choose Download.
  4. Upload to your system. Add the downloaded photos to the vehicle in your DMS, inventory tool or website builder, the way your team already does.

Which format should I choose for my website and listing sites?

Every finished photo is a JPEG of about 2K, for example 2016 pixels wide at 3:2, with no watermark. Choose the format under Format before you generate: 3:2 (the default), 4:3, 16:9 or 1:1. Google vehicle ads recommend 4:3 and Cars.com displays 4:3, so choose 4:3 for those two; our guide to car listing photo requirements by site lists each site's size, format and photo limits. A second format of the same photo is a second finished photo, at one more Credit.

Do the photos need anything removed before they go on a listing?

No. Finished photos carry no watermark. Plates are hidden with a clean blank plate by default. Check each finished photo against its lot photo before you upload it.
