Privacy Policy

Overview
This policy explains what Clearcoat collects when you use clearcoat.ai, what it is used for, and who processes it on our behalf. It goes together with our Terms of Service.
What we collect
- Account. Your name and email address, provided when you sign in with Google or request an emailed sign-in link. Clearcoat has no passwords.
- Content. The vehicle photos you upload, the vehicle details you enter, and the images you generate.
- Billing. Stripe processes payments; we keep your subscription status and Credit history but never see or store your full card details.
- Operations. Server logs and error reports needed to keep the service working, which can include your IP address and browser information.
Clearcoat uses only essential cookies, which keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.
We use PostHog, hosted in the European Union, to understand how Clearcoat is used and to find and fix errors. Visitors who are not signed in are measured without cookies or browser storage, and nothing identifies them between visits. When you sign in, PostHog keeps an identifier in your browser's local storage that links your activity to your account and Team. Signing out removes it.
To diagnose problems, we record some sessions as a replay of the pages you viewed, the actions you took, and the vehicle details you entered. Replays are deleted after 30 days. We use this information only to operate and improve Clearcoat, never for advertising.
How we use it
We use your information to run the service: to generate and verify your images, sync your Teams, bill subscriptions, send transactional email such as sign-in links, deletion confirmations, and Team invitations, provide support, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use your content for advertising.
Where your data lives
Your uploaded photos and generated images are stored in private object storage; they are not public, and access goes through the service. These providers process data on our behalf:
- Cloudflare: hosting and private image storage
- Convex: application database and backend
- Google: the optional Google sign-in
- Stripe: payments and subscriptions
- Resend: transactional email
- Fal: AI image processing; your photos are sent to it to produce your images
- PostHog: product analytics, session replay, and error monitoring, hosted in the European Union
Each provider receives only what its role requires. Data is encrypted in transit.
Retention and deletion
We keep your account information, photos, and generated images while your account is active so your Vehicles and Showrooms stay reusable. You can delete content and request account deletion inside the app, or contact hello@clearcoat.ai for help. When your account is deleted we delete personal data and stored images from active systems, except records the law requires us to keep, such as billing records. Copies in security backups age out under the backup provider's retention schedule.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Email hello@clearcoat.ai and we will handle your request; we answer within 30 days.
Transactional email is part of operating the service. If we ever send marketing email, it will include an unsubscribe link.
Children
Clearcoat is a business tool for selling vehicles and is not directed to children. Do not use the service if you are under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. For material changes we will notify you by email or a notice on the site before they take effect.
