Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of clearcoat.ai and the Clearcoat service, operated by Clearcoat ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Clearcoat on behalf of a dealership or another organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.

Clearcoat creates AI car photography. You upload photos of a vehicle and choose a Showroom setting. For each photo, Clearcoat uses AI to generate a new image of the vehicle in the Showroom, instructed to keep the vehicle as it appears in your photo.

Generated images are created with AI. They are not photographs of the vehicle in that setting, and they can contain inaccuracies, including differences in the vehicle's details such as badges, wheels, trim, paint, damage, or license plate characters, and lighting or reflections that do not match. Compare every image with your original photo before you publish it, and make sure your listings represent the actual vehicle.

We improve the service continuously and may add, change, or retire features. If we discontinue the service or materially reduce it, we will give you reasonable notice.

You sign in with Google or with a sign-in link we email to you. There are no Clearcoat passwords, so keeping your email and Google accounts secure keeps your Clearcoat account secure. Tell us at hello@clearcoat.ai if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Work in Clearcoat happens inside Teams. Every account starts with a personal Team, and you can join others by invitation. Members of a Team share its Vehicles, Showrooms, generated images, and Credits.

You must own the photos you upload or have the right to use them this way. Do not upload content that is unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.

You keep ownership of your photos. You grant us the license we need to run the service for you: to host, reproduce, and process your photos and generated images, and to display them to you and your Team. We use that license to operate, troubleshoot, and support the service.

• Delivered images are yours to use for any lawful purpose, including listings and advertising. We claim no ownership over them and add no watermark.
• Because generative AI can produce similar results from similar inputs, we cannot promise that images generated for other customers will never resemble yours.
• You are responsible for how you use the images. Do not use them to misrepresent a vehicle's identity or condition.

Generation is paid with Credits. Each delivered image costs 1 Credit. Images that fail or are canceled cost nothing. New accounts receive 6 introductory Credits at no charge.

Subscriptions add a monthly Credit allowance: Studio is $25/month for 100 Credits, Studio+ is $50/month for 300 Credits, and Ultra is $100/month for 600 Credits. At the start of each billing period your balance is raised to your plan's allowance if it is below it; a higher balance carries over unchanged.

Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings: you keep your Credits and paid access until the end of the period you paid for, after which the remaining balance is no longer spendable. Credits have no cash value and are not transferable.

Except where the law requires otherwise, fees are non-refundable, including for partial periods and unused Credits. Prices may change; we will give you at least 30 days' notice before a price change affects you. Fees exclude any applicable taxes.

Do not:

• break the law or infringe others' rights;
• upload or generate content intended to deceive, including images used to misrepresent a vehicle;
• probe, overload, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its infrastructure, or circumvent its limits and security measures;
• reverse engineer the service, scrape it, or resell access to it.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or put the service or other customers at risk.

You can stop using Clearcoat at any time and request account deletion in Settings, or email hello@clearcoat.ai for help. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay, or if the law requires it. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits) survive it.

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, and you should keep your own copies of the photos you upload.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of $100 or the amounts you paid us in the six months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Clearcoat is built on third-party infrastructure and processing providers, listed in our Privacy Policy. Your use of the service involves those providers processing data on our behalf.

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give you advance notice by email or a notice on the site before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
